There’s a rumor going around that a mss. of the 80,000 line Prajnaparamita has been dated to the second century BC, which would really throw the study of the early Mahayana, already a notoriously comlex field, into real turmoil. But the report sounds fishy; the researchers won’t grant others access to the text and the provenance is supposedly known but they won’t reveal it. It’s written in Kharoshti, so presumably this is the work of Afghan robbers.
